I can't think of any Spanish words that start with k that are cognates. It would have to be something that is exactly the same, like karate.

they do, but there are very few words that begin with K or W. Kilo, Kilometre, Kilowatt and I think that is it for begining K with but as you see in the word Kilowatt they use w.
