Escalator
Actually walking up the stairs is faster
You take an escalator to get to the top. But yes you can walk up the stairs to get to the top.
The simplest thing to do is to make accordian pleats in the paper first. Now cut the "escalator" to the right scale(size) and make two thin kidney bean shapes for the hand rails. Make little tabs on the "up" "stairs" to glue the "escalator" to the kidney bean shape. Glue the stairs to the rails and let them dry. Stand the escalator upright and get a small stick to hold it under one of the stairs. Get play dough blobs to anchor the stick to the model and the stairs.
Elevators don't look like stairs.
People don't have to walk up stairs anymore.
Steps, stairs, escalator, and stairway are all synonyms of staircase.
