How do you connect a 3d blu-ray player to a 3d ready projector without a HDMI input?

You need a HDMI Input.

Can you use any HDMI cord for any Blu-ray player?

For 3D Blu-Ray discs and 3D TV's, you will need a cable that meets the HDMI 1.4 specification. Most new cables can handle this.

Which is better 1.3 hdmi cable or 1.4 hdmi cable?

There is no difference in the picture quality. You simply need to purchase the cable for the application that you have. If you have a normal Blu-Ray, HDTV and Cable or Satellite HD receiver, a HDMI 1.3 cable is the right type. For 3D televisions, purchase a 1.4 cable.

Are HDMI cables necessary?

You need an HD-capable display to see HD. You may not need an HDMI cable to watch in HD quality, if your source has the ability to display 1080i video through component video cables. All new Blu-Ray players coming out now have been changed so that HDMI is the only way to get high-definition (1080i or 1080p) video.

What is the difference between HD and HDMI?

HD stands for High Definition. HDMI stands for High Definition Multimedia Iterface. HDMI is the input for 1080p HD programming. HD is the actual resolution 1920x1080p is the standard for HD currently. It stands for 1920 horizontal lines and 1080 vertical lines (This creaes a little over 2 megapixlels). These lines refresh to create the image and the more lines the beter quality that you see. the p stands for progressive scan where the entire image is refreshed at once. 1080i is interlaced so half the lines refresh and the other half next. The time between the two is very miniscule. 720p is also HD by the way and it is shown with component cables (this also shows 1080i). The HDMI cable and port transmits 1080p image. Most HD progamming on cable and satellite is 720p although 1080p is used on some PPV chanels. Blu-ray is completely 1080p. DVD's don't use HD although they can be upconverted in a blu-ray player, but it won't be quite as good as a blu-ray disc.

How do i need to play Blu-ray on PS3?

You must hook up the Sony PS3 to a HDTV with either a PS3 component AV cable or a HDMI cable and not the supplied AV cable. Before you purchase the cable examine the back of the HDTV to determine the type cable you need to purchase. HDMI provides for a single plug hook up and is preferred for that and the HDMI sync, however not every HDTV has a HDMI connection. Please note to play certain Blu-ray Discs on the PlayStation 3, you may need to update your PlayStation 3 system software. See Related link
