Father Laurence was more of a father figure to Romeo than a friend, but yes, he helps Romeo a lot.

#protip: If this is for an English assignment, I suggest READING the book.

How does Lord Capulet's decision complicate the plot?

Well, he makes several decisions over the course of the play. For example, in Act 1 Scene 5 when Tybalt complains that Romeo is a Montague party-crasher, Capulet decides to let Romeo stay. As a result he meets Juliet and forgets all about Rosaline. As a result we get the plot. His decision to turn down Paris's initial offer of marriage to Juliet, his decision to change his mind and promise Paris that he can marry Juliet, and his decision to try to force Juliet to marry him rather than apologise to Paris and say that Juliet has no interest in marrying him after all are all decisions which impact the plot.

How did Romeo and Juliet impact the world of literature?

Romeo and Juliet show their undying love time and time again throughout the play. Their love was recognized, first, on the infamous balcony scene. Romeo sneaks to Juliet's window, and they profess their love for one another (Act II, Scene 2). This scene initially gives the reader a concept of how the two feel towards each other. This dialogue would not be enough to represent the amazing love the couple felt. The words must be accompanied by actions. The first act was Juliet drinking the sleeping potion, Romeo, Romeo, Romeo, I drink to thee (Act IV, Scene 4, Line 58). This took a great deal of motivation in order to drive Juliet to such extremes to be with her lover. Her aching heart provided this motivation. Romeo finds his love lying motionless in the tomb. Now it is time for him to prove his love for Juliet, as she has done for him. Romeo finds a deadly poison and proceeds to take his life with this drink. As he dies, he says thus with a kiss I die (Act V, Scene 3, Line 120). Juliet quickly awakens to find her love that she risked her life for to be dead. Her soul perhaps overwhelms her common sense. She draws a sword and takes her own life beside her fallen husband. Love is the most important aspect of Romeo and Juliet (Examples of Love in Romeo and Juliet). Shakespeare's understanding of this emotion allowed him to set the tone for many romantic and tragic playwrights to follow. His impact on our world can never be measured, but the play Romeo and Juliet was, no doubt, a revolutionary play in the history of literature.

When capuler first spoke with Paris in act one he said that Juliet was still too young to wed how does he react when Juliet refuses to wed Paris?

In Act 1, Scene 5 Romeo and Juliet meet. This has a big impact on the rest of the story, due to the tragic ending. Although, unbeknown to Lord Capulet his 'child' has already become a bride to his worst enemies son Romeo. When Capulet mentions to Juliet about marrying Paris Juliet reacts, this would be unexpected to the Shakespearian audience due to the patriarchal society. But Capulet threatens to 'hang thee', this suggests how he is becoming violent, also how he has changed his mind from Act 1, Scene three: '...ripe to be a bride.' - this shows how Capulet wanted more time for his daughter to become mature, whereas in Act 3, Scene 5 Capulet changes his manor to a more controlling and turning to the 'dominant male' of the family.
