Act 1 Scene 2 Line 7-9
"Doubtful it stood; / As two spent swimmers, that do cling together / And choke their art." Act II, Scene 3 The Sergeant compares two sides of the battle to two tired swimmers who cling to each other and drown as a result. "... fortune, on his damned quarrel smiling, / Show'd like a rebel's whore... " Act I, Scene 2 Fortune seemed to favor Macdonwald at first, just as a prostitute favors a man for a short time, but leaves him afterwards. "And pity, like a naked new-born babe." That's a line from Macbeth. Yes, the witches in Macbeth say the line "Fair is foul and foul is fair" in Act 1 Scene 1. The whole line is "Fair is foul, and foul is fair. Hover through the fog and filthy air". Why do they say it? Who knows, it's a witchy thing. But it does help set up a theme of moral ambiguity, of appearance not matching reality, which is a theme throughout the play. Some have argued that it is essentially what the play is all about.

The Choke of a shotgun is the amount of barrel restriction at the muzzle end which affects the shot pattern. A full choke will keep the spray pattern of the pellets closer together farther out than if the barrel was not restricted at the muzzle. If there is no restriction at the muzzle, the choke is said to be cylinder choke or cylinder bore.
A full or extra full choke will hold shot in a tighter pattern
only 2 or they will choke each other
Many of the adjustable chokes are adjusted by turning the choke. (If it does not turn with moderate hand force, it is probably gunked up with carbon- let soak in a good powder solvent for a day or two and try again). They work by squeezing movable strip closer together, or further apart- the tighter the squeeze, the tighter the choke. A tighter choke holds the shot column together longer, and gives a smaller pattern that has greater range.
Think of it as a funnel that brings the shots of a shotgun together to travel further in a denser pattern
