The original book was written by Timothy Shay Arthur in 1854 as a diatribe pro temperance.
It was adapted as a play by William W. Pratt and first performed (as near as I can discover) in 1931
It has recently been adapted as a musical by Fred Carmichael. Contact Samuel French, Inc. for rights.
It is currently being produced by the Pittsburg (California) Community Theatre, directed by Betty Brown, to great reviews.
(The California town has no H at the end as has the town in Pennsylvania.)
If you are in northern California (about 40 miles from San Francisco), the play dates are: March 7, 8, 14, 15 (8:00 pm) March 9 (2 pm) at the Creative Arts building, 250 School St., Pittsburg, CA.

If this asked the question who WROTE, A Midsummer Nights Dream" I could tell you : William Shakespeare But as you ask who "Worte" the same I'm afraid I do not know. x
He still is important, you know. He wrote plays that are still performed and quoted more than anyone else's. His writings have been the basis of more movies than any other writer by a million miles. Look him up on IMdb if you don't believe me.
If you consider Der Ring desNibelungenas one opera performed over four nights, as you should, then the two and a half hours of DasRheinegoldprobably is it as that entire night is typically considered to be just the overture by many.Obviously, that is not what normally is regarded as an overture. One of the longest overtures in the proper sense is the one in Hungarian composerFerencErkel'sopera HunyadiLaszlófrom 1844. That overture is about 12½ minutes long.
Nights on Broadway was created in 1975-09.
'Midnight's children' was not written by Shakespeare. 'As You Like It' and 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' are both comedies and 'Julius Ceaser' is a tragedy.
