Romeo;
Juliet is supposed to marry Paris on Thursday, but DON'T WORRY. I have given her a potion for her to take Wednesday night which will make her seem dead for exactly 42 hours. If they find her dead Thursday morning, they should have her buried before she can wake up. At least I hope so. I'm not sure exactly when she is going to take it so she could wake up any time on Friday.
Don't worry, nothing can go wrong with this plan. There is no way that they would change the wedding date to Wednesday or anything. Or that someone will try to arrest you when you try to sneak into Verona.
Yours, Friar Lawrence
Yes. Friar Lawrence sends Romeo a letter to tell him of Juliet's 'fake death', but Romeo never gets the letters. :(
Friar Lawerence's plan was for Romeo to take Juliet away to Mantua with him where they could live together.
Juliet does NOT tell her mother she loves Romeo for that would get her disowned. Juliet does say though that she would rather marry Romeo a man she feels hatred for, then marry Paris whom she feels nothing for. She is telling her mother this because she can not be married to two people at once. She tries to get her mother to see her side of the argument, and Juliet is very close to convincing her mother, when her father enters and Lady Capulet sees how mad he is that Juliet will not marry Paris she walks away leaving Juliet alone.
He tells Romeo that he could have received the punishment of death....
Friar Laurence means that madmen won't listen to what sane people have to say. In other words, he accuses Romeo of not listening to what he, from an outside point of view, has to say about his proposal to Juliet.
That the letter to Mantua to Romeo was not sent due to the fear of spreading the infection. Therefore, Romeo did not know that Juliet was not really dead.
