Well, I don't know what your dad being Scottish has to do with anything, but 'last one upstairs is a fairy' probably means that if you beat your dad racing up the stairs, you get to call him a fairy, or vis versa. Unless it's an enchanted game and the loser will literally transform into a fairy. Actually, that'd be awesome!
