Actually, people did a lot of things for fun in Shakespeare's day, and they were pretty much the same kinds of things people do nowadays. Did they play games? They sure did, from card games to Board Games like backgammon and chess to outdoor games like lawn Bowling and skittles. Did they like to party? You bet, and they partied on the usual occasions: weddings, holidays and so on. Did they go to the pub for a drink? All the time, taverns were very popular. Did they like music? Yes, although they usually made it themselves, singing the various parts of a song. Did they watch shows? Of course, since that's how Shakespeare made his living. They not only watched plays but also blood sports like bullbaiting, bearbaiting and cockfighting.

The usual: they ate, slept, worked and entertained themselves. They entertained themselves in more or less the same way people have always entertained themselves, by watching, listening or playing. They watched plays and other entertainments, listened to musicians and speakers (particularly in church) and played games and music and practical jokes. They liked going out for a drink or a dance.
