Galen was a Greek Doctor Who wrote 350 texts on medicines in ancient Rome. His theory of opposites was that if you had a cold, you should eat something hot and spicy, or if you had a high temperature, you should eat something cold to cool you down.
Galen developed the theory of the four humors by building upon the teachings of Hippocrates and other ancient Greek physicians. He believed that the body's health and temperament were influenced by the balance of four bodily fluids—blood, phlegm, black bile, and yellow bile. Galen's work furthered the understanding of medical theory during the ancient Roman Empire and the Middle Ages.
Some words do not have opposites [antonyms]. The word "why" has no antonym
No. Tension of opposites is a psychological term coined by Carl Jung. It describes a mental stalemate which occurs in the mind at midlife. The individual is pulled in opposite directions, yet neither direction offers a true solution to the individual's frustrated state of being. http://sites.google.com/site/jungalchemy/
No, a theory is not a prediction. A theory is a well-supported explanation for a phenomenon based on evidence and research, while a prediction is a statement about what might happen in the future based on the theory.
He taught anatomy and surgery, the illustrators for his book drew in 3-d and so this made it easier to learn from, he knew about Galen and Hippocrates ideas (four humours and opposites). Hope this helped a bit?

in the theory and in practices the two tend to be direct opposites of each other
A Galen associated, often referred to in the context of medicine, is a term that may refer to the theories and practices derived from the work of Galen, a prominent Greek physician and philosopher from the 2nd century AD. His extensive writings on anatomy, physiology, and the theory of the four humors greatly influenced medical knowledge and practices for centuries. In modern contexts, "Galen associated" could also imply adherence to or alignment with Galen's methodologies or ideas in contemporary medical discussions.

Galen was a Greek doctor who worked in Rome in the 2nd century. While he was in Rome he developed the theory of the four humors ( the four liquid thought to make up the human body) and came up with his own theory. the theory of opposites, Galen thought that if you had a temperature (too much blood) you should eat cool things like cucumbers. if you were to cold (too much phlegm) , you would be told to eat hot things like hot peppers. he also believed strongly in bloodletting which is what they would do if yo were thought to have to much blood. they would take some out. He also discovered that the arteries carry blood not air. He also discovered that the kidneys produce urine not the bladder.
