Rivers require water to be transported to their head-waters. To do this the sun provide copious energy to evaporate sea water and cause weather to bright the moisture to the mountains.
I think it's a correlation of the volume of water multiplied by the steepness of descent. That is Mass X Velocity. Having said that please note I did start with the words 'I think....'
One way is using wave energy and another is tidal energy. however wave energy is pretty new and tidal energy works better in rivers :)
* Solar energy (direct or concentrated) * Wind energy * Hydroelectric energy (from rivers) * Wave energy * Tidal energy * Geothermal energy (from underground heat) * Biofuels (Although from an environmental point of view they can quite damaging)
Almost all energy sources can be traced back to the sun. For example: coal comes from fossilized plants, the plants grew using energy from the sun. Sun provides the energy for evaporation to occur, so that rain can fall, so that rivers can flow, the energy from flowing rivers can be used to produce electricity
Ocean waves are in unlimited quantity. Just like wind and rivers, anything that transfers (kinetic, in this case) energy and has an infinite supply can be exploited for green energy and profit.
Water power, mostly in hydro-electric power plants attached to dams and rivers, is the most common source of renewable energy. Close to 17% of the world's electricity is generated from hydro.
Rivers
The address of the Point Beach Energy Center is: 6400 Nuclear Rd, Two Rivers, WI 54241
They build dams in rivers because they can get electricity from the energy of water without pollution and it is safe.
because rivers provide us with: * food * energy * recreation * transportation routes * and water for irrigation and for drinking
how does a river use its energy
it comes from the sea or rivers originally.
Kinetic energy. This is not limited to Latin America, however.
An old river is a river with a low gradient and low erosive energy. Old rivers are characterized by flood plains.
it comes from the sea or rivers originally.
Wherever there are mountains, rivers and dams.
The kinetic energy from the river powers the turbine, which in turn goes onto a generator which converts it into electrical energy.
hydro power energy can simply be generatelly from the water, rivers or steams system
