Heat requires a medium. Sound requires a medium.

Because there's pretty much no physical matter in outer space, there's no heat or sound. Astronauts can experience heat after light energy converts to heat on their suits, and they can experience sound if they touch something (and the vibrations vibrate their ears as sound). Oh! And they get sound from radio waves (which are light!) that convert to sound.

Pure energy (like light, and gravity i guess) is the only thing that doesn't require a physical medium. I guess once an object is propelled through space, it continues moving without a medium too.

Fish need water to swim, monkeys need branches to swing, worms need dirt to wiggle forward.
