Highly Unlikely....
There was a mythbusters episode aired on this similar issue not too long ago. They tested everything from throwing a lighter, to putting it in the dryer, having it in your pocket while welding, and evenually hitting it with a Golf club and super human speed. Fact is, you need three things to create flame, Oxygen, Fuel, and an Igntition source. So if you managed to throw the lighter at the ground enough times to comprimise the shell and the fuel and air mixed and a spark happened to occur at just the right moment you might get a small....boom.. But very very unlikely.
However, what could be fun... Take a piece of tape and tape the gas switch down then ignight the lighter. Set it on concerete and drop a rather heavy rock on it... Youll get your little bang... However.. theres a perfactly good 79cents down the drain...
My suggestion is... just don't throw your lighters at the ground. First its not smart, and two, you'll look like a special ed kid trying to play Basketball.
If it does, it is not very effective. MOST are designed to explode when they are more than 1000 ft above the ground.
Pencil lead used to explode fairly easily when I lived in Bulgaria in 1995. We used to make it explode with only a lighter. It would take about a minute to make a 2 inch piece of lead explode. When I moved to America, I was sad to find that American pencil lead does not explode.
In the air above the target
Gravity is the force which makes a thrown ball fall back to the ground. It is the force which attracts all objects to the Earth.
Objects fall to the ground because of the force of gravity.
because you have to slam it on the ground for it to explode don't light it that will never explode.
Holding it open will not cause it to explode.
yes axe can explode. if you spire it in the air and light a lighter you will here a poof!
yes
it will explode if your melting it on a fire
Yes, you can!
Well there can be tnt.
yes it does it is flammable
No, they must be in your carry on luggage.
If your dryer didn't explode, try lighting your lighter. If your lighter lights, then you have nothing to worry about. If it doesn't go buy a new lighter.

Yes, quite certainly, AND DO NOT TRY THIS !!
