A digital thermometer is great for easy reading. The safety that comes with it (no Mercury) also allows for a peace of mind. Although it is more expensive than the traditional thermometer, it is worth it. You may find great deals on digital thermometers during the cold and flu season at drug stores.

What converts your voices sound waves to digital signals?

A microphone converts voice sound waves into electrical signals, which are then digitized by an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) to produce digital signals. These digital signals can then be processed and transmitted digitally.

What are some examples of quantization?

Some examples of quantization include the digital representation of sound waves in audio files, the conversion of continuous voltage levels into discrete digital values in analog-to-digital converters, and the discretization of pixel values in digital images.

What instruments sends its measurements directly to a computer?

A digital sensor, such as a digital thermometer or a digital scale, can send its measurements directly to a computer. These sensors use digital communication protocols such as USB or Bluetooth to transfer data to a computer for further analysis or processing.

Is transverse waves digital or analog?

Transverse waves exist in both digital and analog forms. The nature of the wave itself (transverse) is independent of whether the signal it carries is digital or analog. The modulation or encoding of the wave determines whether it is digital or analog.

How did analog become digital?

Analog signals, such as sound or light, are converted into digital form through a process called analog-to-digital conversion. This process involves quantizing the continuous analog signal into discrete, digital values represented by binary numbers. Once in digital form, the signal can be processed, stored, and transmitted more efficiently and accurately.
