There are several reasons why your amaryllis may not have bloomed this year. Some common reasons include insufficient sunlight, improper watering, lack of nutrients, or the bulb not being dormant long enough. It's important to ensure your amaryllis receives adequate light, water, and nutrients, and to allow it to go through a dormant period to encourage blooming.
Amaryllis typically bloom for about 2 to 4 weeks.
An amaryllis typically takes 6-8 weeks to bloom after planting.
Typically Amaryllis bloom between fall and winter each year. After the bulbs are planted the flower will bloom within 8-10 weeks. It is recommended to keep the plant at around 70 degrees and to rotate the pot often as the plant will tend to grow towards the sunlight.
Amaryllis may not bloom due to insufficient sunlight, improper watering, or lack of nutrients. It could also be affected by stress from being moved or repotted.
Naked Lady plants bloom in August. But if you moved them this year, they may refuse to bloom until next year. The real name is amaryllis belladonna. Make sure you plant it in full sun or that may cause it not to bloom.
Flowers, trees, shrubs, etc. all have a different length of time before they bloom. For example: are you asking about how long a crepe myrtle tree takes to bloom after you buy it from the nursery and plant it or are you asking what month you can expect to see crepe myrtles in bloom? Are you asking how long an amaryllis bulb in a glass container with rocks takes to bloom after it's purchased from a store or are you asking when amaryllis plants normally bloom in their native habitat in South America? Please ask about a specific plant.

Amaryllis V. Lord has written: 'The misses Pringle's leap year' 'The misses Pringle's leap year'
Usually, the first sprout from an amaryllis is the flower bud, growing at the top of the first of usually two stems. Leaves emerge with, or after, the second stem. It's sounds like the two dead pieces were the first flower bud/stem and possibly the tip of the second also. You don't say if you bought as part of a kit, or a bare bulb, or a plant...but now you have leaves. If they are healthy, I would keep and look after the plant -- with care, it can bloom beautifully for next holiday season, but isn't likely to bloom again just now (though there are amaryllis that bloom more than once a year, it's fairly unusual). Found info on amaryllis, and how to care for it and get it to bloom again next winter, at www.5-minute-container-gardening.com/amaryllis.html
