Here the ultimate geography lesson that the narrator learns while looking at the earth from a great height is that the earth is 'round' meaning one in spite of the natural boundaries or divisions whereas man has divided its oneness by drawing political, religious and linguistic boundaries on the face of earth that create everlasting hatred and hostility between various groups. The poet implies that we should realize that if God-made earth is one undivided whole so is humanity in spite of our racial, cultural and ethnic differences. Why we still hate or kill each other is beyond the poet's understanding!
