Andrew Fisher, the leader of the Australian opposition, expressed strong support for Britain during World War I, stating that Australia would stand beside the UK to the fullest extent. He emphasized the importance of loyalty to the British Empire and the need for Australia to contribute to the war effort. His statements reflected a widespread sentiment of patriotism and commitment to supporting Britain during the conflict.
Australia fought in wars with Britain because Britain OWNED Australia until after World War 2. The wars after that in which they fought together with the Brits were when they were doing United Nations military functions. They have not fought in any war because OF their desire to support Britain but because they are allies together in the United Nations.
Because Australia was still technically part of the British Empire ( a Dominion) and was bound by an alliance that required it to participate in wars which involved its "sovereign" country( in this case Britain).
Australia's fought in the Boer War, World War One and Two to support Britain
Great Britain specifically did not support Australia in the Vietnam War even though allied under SEATO to resist communist aggression in South East Asia, becoming in many Australian eyes Little England.
Britain and Australia form an alliance because if Australia thought that if they support Britain and protect Britain from ever being invaded, Australia would receive the same respect back. Britain is also allianced with the United States, so Australia formed with them too for more protection. They would also be able to do more trades ( Trade Minerals and different types of products, etc.) In a more simpler term, it's basically: "You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours". Hope this helped xo
Australia got involved in ww2 for a number of reasons. 1. Australia had no real defence force at the time and if there was an invasion Australia would suffer greatly and therefore relied on Britain heavily for support 2. Australia still had close ties with Britain. As stated in the 1901 constitution Australia's defence and foreign policy was basically that of Britain. 3. Australia was still largely inhabited by Britain's who felt a dire need to protect and help the "mother Country"
Australia joined Britain in ww1 in August 1914 All major political parties, churches, community leaders and newspapers seemed to support Australia's entry. It was seen as a natural Australian duty.

Australia had long answered the call to support Britain, becoming involved in everything from the Maori Wars, Sudan, South Africa, World War 1 - South Australia even offering a contingent for the Zulu War, all of which did not threaten Australia until Japan's entry to WW2.
