This comes from the concept of the "Social Contract", first published by French philisopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau in the 18th century. He belonged to the same school of philosophy as Montesquieu, who gave most Western political systems such as that of the USA the principle of the three independent powers to rule a country: executive, legislative and judicial.
Jean-Jacques Rousseau held that all power is based on a social contract between a ruler and his subjects, wherein he is given the right to rule by the people in return for his undertaking to work only for the good of the people and maintain the highest standards of administrative conduct, impartiality, effectiveness etcetera. When a ruler does not fulfil his side of the deal, he loses - according to Rousseau - his right to rule. Which implies the right of the people to revolt if he does not step down voluntarily.
It means that people have a right to dissent against a government that they feel has grown tyrannical and no longer represents the majority of citizens.
He meant that he had no right to take Bella, but he still reached out and took Bella (and when I said to take Bella, he meant that he had no right to love her, claim her as his love).
The authors claim that the states possess the right to self-governance and to determine their own political and economic systems, especially in the context of the revolution. They argue that when a government becomes tyrannical or fails to protect the rights of its citizens, the states have the authority to alter or abolish that government. This right is rooted in the principles of liberty and justice, emphasizing the importance of the consent of the governed.
People can not stake a claim to land unless they have the legal right to. Having proof of ownership in the form of a deed is the best way to claim land.
Arabs believe they have a right to claim land for exactly the same reasons that all other people believe that they have a right to claim land. They feel a right to the land that they live on since they live there and their ancestors have lived there.
"Extending the franchise" in the U.S. meant giving more people the right to vote.

the right of revolution is found in the declaration of independence.
Socrates did not directly claim that people know right from wrong but choose to do evil. Instead, he focused on the idea that people do wrong because of ignorance and lack of understanding about what is truly good. Socrates believed that once people gain knowledge and wisdom, they would naturally pursue what is right.
This was formally known as the divine right of kings.
