When writing a constitution especially democratic one you must first ask yourself a very important question you wanted to be representative Rob such as our Republican America or do you want to be a direct democracy such as very small cities in the past. Regardless there're several attributes that you must flush out for what type of country you want when you are writing a constitution. The most important is the construction of a set of rights like in our Constitution the Bill of Rights which protect the people from the government.
Secondly and most complicated you have to come up with what types of powers various parts of government will have. This is the part that required all of the founders because it's complicated and you have to work out a schema for how different parts will interact with each other. The reason why the Constitution took so long to write and why the Constitutional Congress was so long is because there were so many debates on how power should be divided up and If the power should even be granted in the first place.

The reason there is a constitution is because the people of a country have agreed that they should have certain rights and rules to govern their country. Having a strong constitution means that the country is united and orginized especially with money. Without a strong constitution the country will most likely be a disaster economy wise with no order or organization with how to handle the money or handle problems that the country is faced with concerning money. With a strong constitution the country shall pass by problems quickly and stress free but with a strong constitution, the country probably wouldn't have even come by the problem in the first place.
