Queen Elizabeth II (current), Prince Charles, Prince William and then the baby due to be born today (22 July 2013).
The Role of the Monarchy Monarchy is the oldest form of government in the United Kingdom. In a monarchy, a king or queen or any other impotant people is Head of State. The British monarchy is known as a constitutional monarchy. This means that, while The Sovereign is Head of State, the ability to make and pass legislation resides with an elected Parliament.
The British were outraged and demanded that the colonists were to give up this nonsense and keep buying goods from England, the British had sent ships and many troops to check on the colonists on a daily basis, to make sure that they were kept in line. The British didn't want colonists to rebel against there monarchy because the British wanted control over everything.
Since 1992, the British Monarchy is not up and above the law. However in some other countries, it is still legal.
Australia is a constitutional monarchy, not a republic. When its government was first set up, it followed the British Westminster system.
It set up a limited monarchy in place of the absolute monarchy that had ruled France for centuries. It reflected enlightenment ideas by ensuring equality before the law for all male citizens and ended Church interference in government.
Saudi Arabia is a monarchy, not a dictatorship. The monarchy was established in the early 1900's (around or shortly after WW I). Am not up on all the history and details, but I believed it involved the British division of the territories previously controlled by the Turkish empire.
he was not very happy about it and decided to make up a new form of government.
Mountainous and coastal.
the people whould make holes in the mountains and pop up and kill the british people
A limited Monarchy was created with the Constitution of 1791.
The parliament asks the monarchy if they can go through with their idea but the present queen has never said no to an idea. The British people have never had the chance to vote for or against a monarchy so we could end up with a really awful king or queen. British people have paid over £75,000,000 on tax alone to support the royal family, when we could be spending it on things the country need like paying the banks to help the credit crunch. Last year, alone we paid £200,000 for the royal wardrobe and a £50,000 for the Buckingham palace well.
No - Great Britain is not a country, nation or state; it is an island. The island of Great Britain, together with the Province of Northern Ireland and about 1000 small islands, make up The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The United Kingdom is a constitutional monarchy.
