There has not been an English monarch for over 300 years; The Act of Union, 1707 united the crowns of England and Scotland to form The United Kingdom of Great Britain.

Later, in 1801, The crowns of The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland were united to form The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.

In the period 1900 - 1950 the monarchs were:

Victoria (1837 -1901)

Edward VII (1901-1910)

George V (1910-1936) - during this reign, in 1922, the Southern part of Ireland was partitioned and the monarch became King of The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Edward VIII (1936) -Abdicated
