T.V is bad for the brain because it can lead to many cancers and does serious damage to a babys brain
Television CAN be beneficial, depending on content. Conversely, studies have proven that brain cells die off more rapidly when dull programming is observed.
in so many ways you could only imagine! phsycology in general is about the brain. so you use it in school, at home, at work, everywhere!! when you change the channel on the TV with the remote, your using psychology!!
Having a wrinkled brain is good because in order for our brains to be higher functioning, they have to be big. More surface area equals more brain cells, which equals more thinking power. The brain is wrinkled so that it can have a lot of surface area, but will still fit within our skulls and be proportional to the rest of the human body. The wrinkles in our brains are there from birth, and do not change as we grow older.
Blueberries are often considered one of the best fruits for brain health due to their high levels of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. They have been shown to improve cognitive function and protect against age-related decline in brain function.
This myth began when a psychologist reported that they had isolated the functions representing 10% of the human brain. Regions like Broca's area, Wernicke's area, the amygdala, and the hippocampus-to name but a few-are all areas that perform highly specialized functions. It just so happens that approximately 10% of the brain's precise functioning is known to us (yet that is not to say that the other 90% does nothing). Lesioning the Broca's area will result in the losing the ability to speak (called Broca's aphasia), while lesioning Wernicke's area will disrupt language comprehension. Unfortunately, the reporter at the time didn't fully understand or failed to interpret the findings accurately. What followed was the report that humans only use 10% of their brains. However, this report is completely untrue. The other 90% of the brain is certainly being used, we just don't understand how exactly. No scientist can point to a diagram of the human brain and show you were dreams are stored. Nor can they pinpoint where memories are kept, or where the olfaction (smell) lives. However, we dream, remember to pick up milk, and can smell the difference between our lovers and someone else's without fail. A good analogy is to compare the brain with a car engine. If you car's top speed is 200 mph, and you drive it going 20 mph, you aren't using 10% of your engine. If all cylinders are firing, then you are most certainly using 100% of your engine. This very much equates to the human brain. Whether you are dreaming, reading, or just lounging in front of the TV like a vegetable, you are always using 100% of your brain. Believe me, this sounds like a good answer... but, it just can't be this simple (if you don't believe what i said, then just look at the concluding paragraph of the last guys/girls answer and try to figure out why it should be this simple). I think that this is because we only use10% of our brains to THINK. We, of course, would have the abilities of the 5 senses as well but, I don't think that we should underestimate the power of the brain. This is because, what if, by some way we could use the other percent, that's left over, to our thinking power or something deeper than that. I don't really know much, for I'm 17, but I do know that we have to think deeper in order to solve this. NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE... why is this? Maybe because we just need to learn a little more to fully understand why it is that way and how it is that way... which in the end will help us find the answer to what we need. _Al'x_
