The King Station stop on the Metro is right across the street from the Amtrak station.
The DDOT Woodward Ave #53 route serves Woodward Avenue. It would stop very close to the Amtrak Station at Woodward & W. Baltimore.
You would have to find a Greyhound station close to Starkville (or contact the operator for alternate arrival/departure locations).
The closest Amtrak station to Destin, FL is Crestview, FL but currently the Crestview station is only served by the Sunset Limited which hasn't traveled past Texas since hurricane Katrina and it is unknown when service will return. The next closest station would be Jacksonville, Florida to the east or Slidell, LA.
Amtrak runs a bus service from South Beloit IL to Milwaukee WI. Considering the distance, that's probably as close to "public transport" as you're going to get.
Oklahoma City. From there you can take the Heartland Flyer to Fort Worth.
The nearest Amtrak station to Voorhes, New Jersey, according to Google Maps is: The Amtrak station at 200 North Broad Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, about 27 miles or 40 minutes driving time. One can get an Amtrak schedule for the California Zephyr route by looking on the Amtrak official website online. By choosing the "Routes" tab and then "California Zephyr" one can get the schedule for this train.

Well, that depends on where you are coming from... Kirkwood is Missouri, so there should be a Greyhound bound for that area. However, a Greyhound station would not likely be located right in Kirkwood itself, but a larger municipality close to it such as St. Louis, University City or Chesterfield.
