Connection between the motor neuron and the muscle fiber.

Neuromuscular junction is made up of:

1. Axon ending of the motor neuron (contains the vessicles with acetylcholine ; neurotransmitter)

2. Motor end plate (portion of the sarcolemma that contacts the axon ending)

3. Synaptic cleft (space between the motor neuron and the motor end plate)

Impulse--->axon ending--->release of ACH (acetycholine)--->ACH in the synaptic cleft--->ACH binds to the ACH receptors--->release of Calcium from sarcoplasmic reticulum--->Calcium activates Troponin and Tropomyosin--->binding sites are exposed.
