The underground railroad existed long before Harriet Tubman. She served as one of its most effective conductors.
In the 1994 TV movie, Race to Freedom: The Underground Railroad, slaves use the underground railroad to gain their freedom. It takes place before the start of the Civil War and stars Alfre Woodward as Harriet Tubman.
Harriet Tubman's dream was to have all slaves freed. This was her reason for helping to start the underground railroad.

Harriet Tubman DID NOT START THE UNDERGROUND RAILROAD. but was one of the best condutors on the underground railraod. Levi Coffin was the leader of the Underground Railroad, helped slaves escape from the south to his home in the north, via the Ohio River, into Cincinnati.
Harriet Tubman building an underground railroad, set many (by the thousands) away from slavery. Therefore they were able to start new life styles as equals to white. In doing so Blacks today might not be treated the same way as they are many thing could have happened but I am sure glad it didn't or else u might not have one of your best friends.
She wasn't exactly a 'conductor' that's just what everyone called the people that led the Underground Railroad. Those conductors would guide them in many ways like leading them to their start and end points, and giving them a quil, witch was really a map.
Harriet Tubman was an African-American abolitionist
Harriet Tubman wanted to escape slavery so she took people with her to the underground railroad (wasn't really a road) it was just a route that took them to many places so she escaped by night and slept by day. Some people wanted to gO back they thought they were gonna get cought so she never gave up and every person that wanted to leave she killed them cause if they go back the slave owners would start hitting the person until they say were or what location are they at? Also harriet would drug little kids (babies) so they could not start crying. Would u go with Harriet Tubman or not. Shes rough yea, but she escaped.. Those people are now free
