Does the Old Testament teach that a redeemer will appear and save us from sin?

Jesus Christ is mentioned, though not as specifically as some would prefer, in Genesis 3:15, as He is the seed of Adam and Eve, who would come through the lineage of King David of Israel, and He was to save the world by defeating satan/the serpent and be the 2nd Adam, as He was to forever correct what the 1st Adam messed up, which was humanity.

He is not a military figure, though He, God the Father, guided and protected the children of Israel all through the Old Testament, using many men, Israelites and non-Israelites as well. However, He came as a lamb to lead His sheep and die as a sheep to the slaughter, but when He comes back, He will come with insurmountable power as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, the chosen tribe of Israel, instead of any of the other 11 tribes. Christ and God the Father both appeared in the Old Testament in special occasions, and those appearances by preincarnate (before He was physically born by Mary) Christ are called christophanies, and those by God the Father are called theophanies, with angel of the Lord being God Himself.

All of the O.T. saints lived in the hopes of a Messiah, which they were taught as kids was to come, though the time of His birth may not have been declared in their time, but they were declared His followers and believers by looking forward to the promise of a Messiah and the cross on which He would die. In Genesis 3:15 (the proto evangelium, which means the first mention of salvation/gospel) it is/was said that a direct descendant would be born though the line of Adam and Eve, the first man and woman, who would also be in the lineage of King David, that would bruise the head of the serpent (satan, who deceived the two to cause them to sin in the garden), though His heel would be bruised, which we now know to have been the physical death of Christ, from which He would rise, though His resurrection was hinted at/implied.

Also, after the resurrection, on the road to Emmaus two followers indicated that 'We trusted that it had been He which should have redeemed Israel.' (Luke 24:21) Thus, the disciples had identified Jesus as being the Messiah, the redeemer, which should come. Jesus shortly after this explained things to them from the Old Testament.
