God's promises to Abraham is still a work in progress.

"...by faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went... he sojourned in the land of promise... dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: for he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose Builder and Maker is God..." (Heb.11:8-10).

"...THESE ALL DIED IN FAITH, NOT HAVING RECEIVED THE PROMISES..." (verse 13).

"...they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: FOR HE HATH PREPARED FOR THEM A CITY..." (verse 16).

"...these all, having obtained a good report through faith, RECEIVED NOT THE PROMISE: God having provided some better thing for us, that THEY WITHOUT US SHOULD NOT BE MADE PERFECT." (verses 39-40)

From now, until Jesus Christ returns with the Kingdom of God, the "perfecting of the faithful of God" will continue. And then... together with all of Abraham's "faithful children," all will inherit the promise of God together.

"Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham." (Gal.3:7)

"...and if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." (verse 29)

When Jesus the KING returns to establish the Kingdom of God on earth... then, shall Abraham and all of God's faithful inherit the promise:

"Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand, Come, ye blessed of My Father, INHERIT THE KINGDOM prepared for you from the foundation of the world..." (Matt.25:34).

Abraham's heirs of the promise are scattered to the four corners of the earth. Jesus will gather them together when He returns. And the "heavenly city" which they all seek will descend upon a re-made earth [THE LAND OF PROMISE] a thousand years after that.

"...I John saw the Holy City, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven... Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God [the Father] Himself shall be with them, and be their God." (Rev.21:2-3)
