Christophanies, or appearances of Christ, are seen in the Old Testament in instances such as the visitation to Abraham in Genesis 18, the encounter with Jacob at Peniel in Genesis 32, and the appearance to Joshua before the battle of Jericho in Joshua 5.
A Christophany refers to a specific manifestation or appearance of Christ in the Old Testament before his incarnation. It is a pre-incarnate appearance of Jesus Christ in the form of a human or angelic being.
I do not believe that Jesus had a body before the pre-incarnate period. He was still Spirit. But there are instances in the Bible where The Lord Jesus Christ made appearances in certain instances. These are called Christophany. One such appearance was in Joshua 5:13-15. Another was in Genesis 18.
Christophanies in the Old Testament are instances where Jesus Christ appeared before his physical incarnation. These appearances provide insights into his divine nature and presence throughout history, foreshadowing his coming as the Messiah.
The bible is divided into two parts the old and the new testament. The old testament is before the birth of Christ and the New Testament is after Christ was born.
There are two testaments in the Bible. The Old Testament is before Christ was born, the New Testament is after Christ was born. And, yes, the Old Testament and the New Testament, together, are the Bible.
The word Testament means covenant. The Old Testament describes the old covenant God made. The New Testament describes the new covenant Gad made with humans through Christ Jesus. The Old Testament looks forward to Christ where as the New Testament looks back at the promises of Christ.
The "New" Testament - the story the life of Christ and the Teachings of Christ.
The Old Testament never actually mentions Jesus Christ.
