No. They are different religions, though they have many similarities.
Both come from China. Confuciusism is the teachings of moral philosphy, social philosphy and ethics. Taoism is a religon that means the path, way or principle. Lao tzu is the founder of Taoism and he wrote the tao te ching.Confucius was a teacher of philosphy, but can be thaught by any religon.Confuciusism is not a religon. He stood for the betterment of china and its people,He was more a leader than a religous figure.Confucius was around the Qin Dynasty(551-479 BC).Lao tzu is from the zhou Dynasty(4th to 5th century BCE).Both are consider Ancient philoshy.
Shinto is a Japanese religon which would differ from Chinese traditions.Shinto is based on principals and diligence of Japan in present day and ancient Japan. Shinto now is Japanese mythology, history and folklore. Shinto books are Kojiki and Nihon Shoki. Founded in 660 BC.Shinto religon is based on major kami, minor kami which are Gods, Goddess and leaders. It also has Buddhism practices and the seven lucky Gods.
Which both China and japan use Buddhism and the seven lucky Gods.
Taoism dont have their festivals because they are in the same genre like Shinto so no, they dont have a festival
No.
No.
They were both founded around the same time in China(in fact, the founders of both religions apparently knew one another). The difference between them is, Confucianism is all about man's relationship with his fellow man, while Taoism is all about man's relationship with nature.
Yes it is the same
There some religions which are almost same but they name it bythemselves. But I can say that Buddhism is the majority one. Buddhism. Zen Buddhism. Hinduism. Christianity. Vietnamese Buddhism. Islamic. Taoism. Confucianism.
Daoism or Taoism. They are both same thing they just are called differently sometimes. Now it is called Taoism but in ancient China it was called Daoism.
No. briefly Taoism- following nature Confucianism- following justice and do all things for the benefit of others Taoism- no government- it disturbs nature Confucianism- government is needed to create laws that benefit the people Taoism- focus on ones inner nature, said to come from the incomprehensible and nameless flow of nature (called Tao) from which all things come and return Confucianism- focus on righteousness for the sake of righteousness There is so much difference in these writings. Best thing would be to read the writings to see for yourself- The Tao Te Ching is one of the most popular sacred texts ever written (besides the bible), and the Analects of Confucius are writings by Confucius dealing with all his ideas (hard to read, but worthwhile). Some translations are easier than others- I only began to understand a tiny bit after reading multiple translations (particularly of the Tao te ching).
There are certainly people in Colorado who practice Confucianism. It is a type of spirituality, the same as any type of religion.
Legalism (Hundred Schools of Thought) began in China, in the fifth century BCE, about the same time as Confucianism and Daoism (or Taoism). Coincidentally, this was the same period as the flowering of new religious and philosophical ideas in the Near East and Greece. == == == ==
The answer to this question depends on the religion you are talking about. For a lot of people, Buddhism itself is not a religion but a philosophy. The same goes for Taoism and Shinto. And, for those, there is no "God" but a way to go through life with respect to things such as nature and other living creatures. But, either way, Buddhism and Shintoism shaped Japan in the ways that Catholicism and Christianity shaped America.
