Yes, the ancient version of Hinduism used the Caste System, which had priests at the top of the social order (the Brahmins), rulers and warriors second (the Kshatriyas), farmers, craftspeople, and traders third (the Vaisyas), workers and servants fourth (the Sudras), and lastly, the Untouchables, who didn't belong to any caste. You were not allowed to marry or congregate with anyone from a separate caste, so the Untouchables, made up of non-Aryans, were stuck with the worst jobs, like cleaning animal hides.
