Research shows that Simon of Cyrene was from a country in ancient northern Africa (bordering Egypt) called Libya. According to Spirit of English Magazine Vol. 10, pg. 286; in ancient times Libya contained two countries Cyrenaica and Marmarica. Wikipedia shares that Libya was until recent times, the home of one the oldest Jewish communities in the world, dating back to at least 300 BC. In the 1st century, the Jewish historian for the Roman Empire, Josephus Flavius, noted 500,000 Jews lived in Libya. By today's standards, people from North Africa may or may not be classified as Black. The New Testament let's us in on the fact that Joseph, Mary and Jesus spent time in Egypt. This raises an equally intriguing question as to whether or not Simon's friend, Joseph of Marmarica (a.k.a. Joseph of Marmore, Joseph of Arimathea, brother of Jesus' grandmother) from the neighboring district of Marmonica/Marmarica, should also be classified as African or Black. --Satchell Intell
Simon of Cyrene was the man who helped Jesus carry his cross.
Simon of Cyrene is thought to be black. He carried Jesus' cross.
Nowhere. Simon of Cyrene was compelled to carry Jesus' cross, and some people suppose him to be black.
I can find little information about the topic but, apparently, Simon of Cyrene is considered a saint. There are a number of Catholic and Episcopal churches named for him. Possibly the first 'black' saint.
There is no historical record indicating that Simon of Cyrene died in the same place as Jesus. Simon of Cyrene is known for helping Jesus carry the cross to Golgotha, but there is no further mention of him in relation to Jesus' crucifixion.
Simon from Cyrene (Matt. 27:32; Mark 15:21). Little is known of Simon. Many Bible scholars believe that he was likely a Jew who was celebrating the Passover in Jerusalem. He had two sons, Alexander and Rufus. Cyrene was an important city in North Africa, where Libya is located today. Cyrene had a large Jewish population.
Matthew 27:32 tells us that a man of Cyrene, Simon by name helped Jesus carry the cross to Calvary.

The Bible does not mention the name of Simon of Cyrene's mother. Simon of Cyrene was a bystander who was compelled to carry the cross of Jesus on his way to be crucified, as mentioned in Luke 23:27. Simon of Cyrene is also mentioned in Romans 16:13, but there is no additional information about his mother in that passage.
We have no certain information on that. The man is named as Simon, of Cyrene. Cyrene could have referred to a settlement in Lybia - but there was a large Jewish contingent there, so Simon could have been Jewish, Arab, or black. No one alive now can say for certain and anyone who claims to be able to is either lying or getting vision from God - you decide.
And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross.
