The crescent Moon and the sword. Islam forbids the representation of the human body in an artistic sense, so you won't see statues or paintings of Mohammed like you do of Jesue or Buddha or Shiva... Most Islamic decoration is therefore geometric in form.

Islam religion has no sacred symbols. There is no religious symbol or symbols for Islam religion or Muslims. Some claim that the Crescent and Star are Islamic symbols. This claim is not true. These symbols are merely cultural or traditional symbols originated by Turks when they were controlling all the Muslim world some time ago.

However, Islam main characteristic is monotheism. That is belief in Allah (God in English) as the one and only one God with no partner, no son, no companion, and no associate. Refer to related question below.

There is no religious Islamic symbol in the sense as the Cross in Christianity or David star in Judaism. The popularly known symbol of the moon and star is thought by some as a symbol of Islam. This symbol is just a political or traditional symbol that is not related to religious requirements. It was a symbol of the Turkish empire that controlled much of the Islamic world for several centuries. The flag used by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was just a plain green rectangular piece of cloth.
