he wants us all to learn and love him.
His mother was able to teach him.
John (the disciple whom Jesus loved) lived the longest of the disciplines. John's long life was alluded to in John 21:22 when Jesus spoke to Peter saying "If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you".
He felt unworthy standing near the Messiah. John understood exactly who Jesus was and what His mission on earth was to be.
jesus teaches us htis beacause he want to make us be like him
The main reason I would want to is to hear him teach. The knowledge he had and the way he taught was so awe inspiring that people would literally drop what they were doing and follow him. We have some of his teachings recorded for us, but we don't get to hear him give them in person. The Apostle John concluded his Gospel at John 21:25 like this: "There are also, in fact, many other things that Jesus did, which if ever they were written in full detail, I suppose the world itself could not contain the scrolls written." Also to be around someone so compassionate, understanding, and non judgmental would be a refreshing change to what we see in the world today from many people who profess to be Christians.
No John the baptist was killed before the crucifixion. Mar 6:24 So she went out and said to her mother, "What shall I ask?" And she said, "The head of John the Baptist!" Mar 6:25 Immediately she came in with haste to the king and asked, saying, "I want you to give me at once the head of John the Baptist on a platter." Mar 6:26 And the king was exceedingly sorry; yet, because of the oaths and because of those who sat with him, he did not want to refuse her. Mar 6:27 Immediately the king sent an executioner and commanded his head to be brought. And he went and beheaded him in prison, Jesus asked John (the disciple) to taker care of his mother. John 19:26.
John doesn't prevent Jesus from being baptized, John baptizes Jesus. John doesn't want to baptize Jesus because john knows who Jesus is but Jesus tells him it is the right things to do. Matthew 3:13-16 At that time Jesus arrived from Galilee and came to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. But John tried to make him change his mind. "I ought to be baptized by you," John said, "and yet you have come to me!" But Jesus answered him, "Let it be so for now. For in this way we shall do all that God requires." So John agreed. As soon as Jesus was baptized, he came up out of the water. Then heaven was opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God coming down like a dove and lighting on him.
John the Apostle's mission was to spread the gospel to the nations. He was the author of four books of the New Testament of the Bible. He is known as the "Beloved Disciple" because of his love for Jesus.
St. John did so by Baptizing people.
