India Inc. means 'India Incorporated'. There is nothing called India Incorporated because India is a sovereign country which does not require incorporation under The Companies Act or any other Act. Only the companies , either Public or Private Limited , require incorporation under the law. Then why do they say 'India Inc'? . Actually it is a way of referring to the corporate India. It refers to the group of Indian Corporates. It also refers to that part of India which resembles a corporate entity. Any administrative action which is professionally handled , as in case of a private company ,brings the allusion 'India Inc.'

M/s stands for 'messers' which is the plural of Mr as well as Mrs. It is prefixed to names of firms , companies , partnership entities etc.
