Natural revelation refers to the knowledge of God and spiritual truths that can be discerned through nature and the created world, rather than through divine scripture or direct revelation. It suggests that observing the beauty, complexity, and order of the universe can lead individuals to an understanding of God's existence and attributes. This concept is often associated with philosophical arguments for God's existence, such as the teleological and cosmological arguments. Natural revelation emphasizes the idea that God's presence and character can be perceived through the natural order.
Revelation is typically not considered a primary source of information in natural science, as this field relies on empirical evidence and reasoning to understand the natural world. While some individuals may find personal inspiration or guidance from their beliefs in revelation, it is not a method used to generate scientific knowledge or discoveries in the natural sciences.

In a Theological sense there are two kinds of revelation, Special and General. General revelation is often considered to be the bible or creation or other things that can be viewed or discovered by man. Special revelation is revelation that comes directly from God or an Angel to an individual. Special revelation includes Visions, the voice of God himself, or miracles or any other supernatural means.
In theology, natural revelation, or general revelation, refers to knowledge about God and spiritual matters, discovered through natural means, such as observation of nature, philosophy and reasoning. Christian theologians use the term to describe knowledge of God purported to be plainly available to all humankind. The Old Testament is certainly available to all humankind, but the revelations it contains are not, other than by storytelling. In the Old Testament we are relying on the testimony of others, so it is not part of what theologians generally call natural revelation.
Natural revelation alone is insufficient for us to know God fully because historical conditions and the consequences of Original Sin often diminish our ability to fully know God's truth. This is why Divine Revelation is needed.
