Sweden doesn't have a state religion. The largest religion in the country, however, is nominally the Swedish Church, the FORMER state religion. A form of Lutheran Christianity, and a member of the Porvoo Communion, it has approximately 6.5 million members, which, with a population of 9.6 million, means that more than 2 in 3 is a member. However, according to polls and the National Statistics Bureau, about 80-85% is atheist or agnostics.

Church attendance is usually less than 1% of the population, except for major religious holidays.

Other religions include (in no particular order) Judaism, Islam (several denominations), Asatro, Hinduism, Buddhism and other minor religions such as Sami shamanism, many of them having grown in Sweden due to Immigration.
