We human beings get very caught in technical terms and try to differentiate between Hinduism and Buddhism. When in reality, instead of separating, we must try to unify. Samsara in Hinduism is this world and samsara in Buddhism is more the cycle of death and rebirth, but they both mean the same. After all, the Buddha, who started Buddhism or rather who caused the beginning of Buddhism was a Hindu prince. His principles, his basic knowledge has come from Hinduism. He removed the evils of the Hindu beliefs of the day and went back to the original Hindu beliefs of the Sanatana Dharma, and therefore, Buddhism and Hinduism are actually the same with slightly different perspectives. Both believe that we must be free from this world, this samsara, both believe that we must attain Nirvana, while Buddhism calls it Nirvana, Hinduism calls it Moksha. Both are two branches of the same tree.

Samsarah, in Sanskrit, means course of life. To Hindus liberation from Samsara means liberation from repeated cycles of birth, life and death. Liberation from Samsara thus gives Moksha and enables him to become one with Brahman.

Samsara actually means Voluntary force.

The actual meaning of Reincarnation:

Reincarnation doesn't mean that we are born again and again as dogs and monkeys.

Whenever we execute an activity there is either loss or gain in Voluntary force. This loss or gain of Voluntary force makes the activity manifest in a new form.

It is this manifestation of an activity in a new form that we symbolically call as reincarnation. It is this Reincarnation of the activity that we have to abolish to attain Moksha.

Moksha and Brahman:

It has to be mentioned here that Moksha means getting rid of Voluntary force and leading a life with pure Involuntary force. It is this pure involuntary force that we call Brahman.

Thus, liberation of Samsara actually means executing the activity in such a way that we neither lose or gain Voluntary force. Karma acts as a filter that removes voluntary force from activities.

The true Karmic way of execution of action:

The right way of execution of an action to attain Moksha is that there is neither loss or gain of Voluntary force i.e. we are neither good nor bad but half good and half bad.

1. Since we neither lose nor gain from the society it would ignore us.

2. Since there is no loss or gain of Voluntary force, it enables us to execute the activity Involuntarily. We attain Moksha by executing all activities Involuntarily. Brahman is the state in which all of our activities are Involuntary.

3. Since we haven't lost or gained by executing the action we can't think about the action. It is this state of tranquility that every one wishes to have.

Thus, Samsara actually means Voluntary force.
