Nathan was a prophet in the Old Testament. It was Nathan who went to to King David and told him of the story of the rich and poor man, and the rich man , slew the poor mans lamb. Nathan was referring to David sending Uriah to the war front to be killed, so he could marry Bathsheba. King David repented and then wrote a psalm on it.
