Polytheists believe there are many gods (and goddesses), all of whom are worshiped in some way. Some polytheistic religions are actually more henotheistic-- that is, they believe in many gods but have a hierarchy, with a certain deity at the top and the other deities in lesser or subordinate positions. In ancient Greece, for example, Zeus was the leader of the gods, but there were also other deities that were also worshiped. There are still some polytheistic religions today-- some people say Hinduism is an example, since there are many Hindu gods and goddesses, including Krishna, Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, Lakshmi, and Ganesh.
