Importance would be a viewpoint. Certainly, Buddhism is important to those living their lives in harmony with the teachings of the Buddha. And most people, not of the faith, feel that the teachings of Buddhists are a worthwhile way to live, a great example of self-sacrifice, or at the very least, a fascinating life choice.
Whether or not that is important would be based on a person's point of view.

Moses is important in JUDAISM, not Buddhism. Moses plays no part in Buddhism and his moral perspective is one that generally deals with creating a better society in this world than the Buddhist perspective, which is primarily about realizing and accepting the broken-ness and unsatisfactory-ness of this world.
