Some people called Jesus Rabi that means teacher. and as the leper had lost all hope , in despair he called out to Jesus as master.

Lepers. Lepers were outcasts because of the disease leprosy from which they suffered. People believed leprosy to be highly contagious and so avoided people who had it for fear of catching it.

Lepers were unclean and anyone that made contact or touched a person with leprosy was considered unclean. Jesus healing lepers was indicative of his office as High Priest. Jesus healed lepers as a demonstration of His divine power and because of the compassion He felt for them.
