Guru Tegh Bahadur obtained shaheedi because Guru Sahib felt that everyone should have religious freedom, to start off the Mughal Empire wanted a land where everyone would become a Muslim, they decided to convert the Brahmins(Priests/ high caste people), because they were considered the most sacred in all of India, These Brahmins-lead by Kirpa Ram later Kirpa Singh after taking Amrit- went to Guru Tegh Bahadur because Guru Sahib was the most sacred in the universe, and they asked him to save them from having to convert, Guru Ji said to them"Go, tell them that if your Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur converts to Islam then we will do so as well." Then Aurangzeb was being over fanatic that if Guru Sahib was to convert, then they would get not only Hindus, but also Sikhs, He arrested Guru Tegh Bahadur with 3 other Sikhs, Bhai Mati Das, Bhai Sati Das, and Bhai Dyala Ji, These 3 Sikhs obtained shaheedi in front of Guru Ji's eyes, and Guru Sahib blessed them, and all 3 were asked the same question"Do you desire to Convert to Islam, or be killed?", all 3 answered to get martyred. And Guru Tegh Bahadur was asked the same question and was beheaded, while focusing on Waheguru. And Guru Gobind Singh Ji is the next Sikh guru!
