Whereas God spoke to man on various occasions as recorded in the Old Testament, in the New Testament, it reveals that God sent His Son, Jesus Christ. In Matthew 1:23, we are told: "Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us."
Throughout the New Testament, it declares that Jesus is God come in the flesh: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." John 1:1-3. Then in verse 14, we see: "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." This is obviously speaking of Jesus Christ, the second person of the Godhead, who came into this world.
This occurred by the Holy Spirit bringing Jesus Christ into the womb of Mary to be born. Mary was visited by the angel Gabriel, who announced that she would have a son, called Jesus (meaning "Savior"). Mary was troubled, because she was still a virgin, having not been with a man. She asked Gabriel, "How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?" Luke 1:34. In verse 35, we see: "And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God."
In that well-known verse, John 3:16, it tells us that God sent His Son into the world: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Jesus would later tell His disciples, "He that hath seen me hath seen the Father...Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, He doeth the works." John 14:9,10.
Many other times, Jesus declared Himself God, as does the rest of the New Testament. "God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." 1 Timothy 3:16.
Jesus Christ who is the eternal God, did indeed come to earth for a time and He will return again in the future. He will come at the right time and many see the signs that it may not be too far away. One thing is certain -it will never be on a day when any man predicts it to be, since Jesus plainly stated that no man can know the day or the hour..
In religious beliefs, God is often seen as the creator of the world, so there was no world before God in those contexts. Different cultures and beliefs may have varying views on this concept.
I assume Mary found favor with God in at least two ways. One being her lifestyle. She apparently lived honestly and according to the scriptures and the law. The other being her family line. Prophesy foretold from which lineage the Messiah would come. You can read about this in the gospels (not John). We often read in scripture about the sovereignty of God. We don't always understand the mind of God and how He acts with reference to the affairs of men but we do read in scripture that God often chooses certain people for certain roles. I am certain God chose Mary way, way before she ever lived. God intended for the Messiah to come from her family line and He knew when and where He would cause Messiah to come into the world. There may be other ways in which Mary found favor with God, but this is what I understand.
A theist believes in a personal god that is actively involved in the world and in people's lives, while a deist believes in a more abstract, impersonal god who created the universe but does not intervene in its affairs.
We call God's loving care for all the world "divine providence." It is the belief that God is constantly overseeing and providing for all of creation with love and care.

God won't come to Earth - or to our Universe, for that matter. At least, not directly. He will affect the world indirectly, for example, through representatives.
