God created us in His image, (with a moral compass, feeling, etc) after the fall (sin) of Adam and Eve, every person is born with a "sin nature", apart from a personal relationship with God, through Christ, every person has a "longing" or "emptiness or void" they seek to feel. That can only be filled when one realizes he/she is lost apart for Christ, confessions that lostness and invites Christ to coe ito their heart, forgive and save them. God sent Christ to save the world, not condemn the world.
The 2nd guide is God's Word, The Bible. The Holy Spirit of guided many people, over hundrends of years to pen the Scriptures, yet if you read it, history is laid out and it reads as if written by the same person. The Old Testament details, creation, then 2,000 years later, God floored the world because of sin, except for Noah and his family, then the exciting story of how God creted and called out a nation, beginning with Abraham and made "His chosen people" the Jews, through who the Christ, the son of God would come. However, they were so blinded by their own well being and religious practices, they rejected and killed Christ. The New Testament details the life, death and resurection of Christ and then the birth of the New Testament Church and the guidelines for how Christians (little Christ) are to conduct their lives in relations to God, and the lost world. Many believe Christians are to be perfect, not true, in this human flesh, we are still fail and do our own will and have to ask forgiveness. BUT, the good news is God loves us, forgives us and when we die, we will have a place in God's Heaven!
A conscience is typically developed through a combination of upbringing, social influences, personal experiences, and moral teachings. It is shaped by one's sense of right and wrong, empathy, and values, which guide decision-making and behavior. Engaging in self-reflection, moral reasoning, and empathizing with others can help to strengthen and refine one's conscience over time.
We have 5 organs, with 5 senses therefore we have 5 consciousness. With this, we have a bodily conscience which is aware of our surrounding, our environment. Beyond that we have the 'heart' conscience, which enable us to discriminate what is good and what is evil. Beyond that we have the spiritual conscience which is the gate way to link to whichever 'god' you believe to be.
Speaking for myself, when I pray to the LORD and ask Him to help me or others, I ask that He does His will in my life. I ask that He direct my actions and inactions (to say/do the right thing and not do the wrong thing). I ask that He makes the right way the easy and obvious way and the wrong way more difficult. (Opened doors are easier to walk through than closed ones.) When I committed my life to Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit was placed within me to help me follow the LORD's desires for me. I think the Holy Spirit is the conscience you speak of. There is another conscience, the ability we are given to know right from wrong. This is given to me by the LORD when I pray, because I ask and therefore receive what is best for me. I trust the LORD, and He has always given me what I need! Maybe not what I asked for or hoped for, but always the right thing. I listen and watch for God Winks in my life to direct my path.
Sacred Scripture and Sacred TraditionAdditional Answer:The one and only source of the information in the Book of Revelation can be read by all in the opening verses as follows: "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which GOD gave unto him, to show unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: Who bare record of the word of GOD, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw."So, this is God the Father giving this 'reign of man' ending information to His Son, Jesus Christ who via an angel, gives it to the Apostle John for recording.
A:Some say that religious instruction is the foundation of moral life. If this were true, we should find higher moral standards among religious people than among those of no faith, but the evidence is that there is no such distinction. One foundation of moral life must be our conscience, whether this is innate or an attribute learnt as children. It is those with a clear sense of conscience who demonstrate honest behaviour. Another foundation of moral life is a sense of empathy. Empathy distinguishes us, at the extreme, from psychopaths. Empathy also gives us reason to help others.
