All major world religions have some kind of following in India. Hinduism is practiced by majority of Indians followed by Islam, Christianity, Sikhism, Buddhism, Jainism and Judaism. Some tribal groups also practice Animism.

Major religion of India is no one as India is a secular state from its independence and this is also legal as term 'Secular' is added to preamble of constitution by 42nd amendment.Though - Non official religion:

- 80% Hindus, 13% Muslim

- 23% Sikh, Buddists

- Jains, Christians etc.
