Isaiah walked around naked for 3 years as a sign of bad things that were to befall Egypt and Ethiopia. He was also walking barefoot.

Answer:

He didn't. Tradition states that "naked" in this case means that he walked around in rags (Talmud, Yoma 77a).

The prophet Isaiah walked around naked for three years as a sign of God's judgment against Egypt and Cush, as mentioned in Isaiah 20:2-3. This act was a visual representation of the humiliation and shame that these nations would experience.

While Isaiah was not wholly naked, the nakedness of his chest and feet was symbolic and prophetic of the coming captivity of the Egyptians and Ethiopians by the Assyrians.

The King James Bible does indeed say naked and barefoot.

The Lord has all power and can use people as he chooses.

An example is that when the lame were healed they were told to walk. When this happened on the Sabbath it was against the law.

Many times the Lord's commandments proves whether a person has the faith to believe that he can save them even when doing that which the law said was wrong.

Still, Isaiah's being naked and barefoot was a type and shadow that the children of Israel would not have their feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace nor be covered by the Spirit of God when in rebellion which clothing and shoes represent.
