Friars typically have a religious or altruistic motive, seeking to serve their faith and help others through their work. Couples, on the other hand, are motivated by personal relationships, love, companionship, and building a life together.
Religions are not necessary. You should see no obstacles prevent you in your path of life. If anything hinders the thoughts of justice, love and humanity then such things (even if it's a religion) may be rooted out completely from the world. A religion's motive must be developing the friendship, love and moral among people not the partiality and sectional feelings. A religion should not act like a political party. The leaders of the religions are also human beings. They did not come from God. They read the religious books and preach. You can do this yourself. You need not join in a group and shrink yourself and get yourself separated from the outer world. One can study in any school or college to acquire the knowledge he/she needs for his/her better future. In the same way one can read any religious matters to acquire moral knowledge for a better life. Joining in something, behaving like political party members will cause only head-ache and unnecessary tensions.

Some have proposed that Abishag is the Shulammite in The Song of Solomon. If that is true, then Solomon himself wanted her as a part of his inheritance from David, as well as her recorded desirable beauty and chastity. We know both ladies were a part of Solomon's court and if she was the one Solomon desired for himself, the motive for Adonijah would be more than mere natural beauty, but have personal and political implications. This would also explain Solomon's extreme reaction of executing Adonijah. See http://www.scripturewise.com/story.htm#STORY for a more detailed scenario.

Religion played a significant role in the Age of Exploration, primarily through the desire to spread Christianity to indigenous populations. European powers, particularly Spain and Portugal, viewed the conversion of non-Christian peoples as a sacred duty, often justifying their conquests and colonization efforts in religious terms. While economic motives, such as the pursuit of new trade routes and resources, were crucial driving forces, the religious aspect provided a moral justification for these endeavors and helped garner support from both the public and the Church. Ultimately, while economics was a primary motive, religion added a profound layer of justification and urgency to exploration efforts.
Bartolomeu Dias's motive for exploration was to find a sea route to Asia by sailing around the southern tip of Africa, now known as the Cape of Good Hope. This was part of the Portuguese efforts to establish direct trade links with Asia and bypass the Muslim-controlled overland trade routes.
