The apostate nation of Israel had refused repeatedly to heed the warnings of this man of God, like others before him. He foresaw the results of their sin and continuing rebellion against their God. Jeremiah himself was falsely accused of treason and thrown into a muddy dungeon. He also had a scroll of prophecy burnt by the king.
The Prophet Daniel is an old testament prophet in the bible. He is credited with writing the book of the bible titled " Daniel" which is located between Ezekiel and Hosea. It was written approx 535 B.C. It contains some famous stories such as Daniel in the Lions den, and the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abendego being thrown in the Firey furnace.
Daniel's prayer resulted in him being thrown into the den of lions because he continued to worship only God despite the decree issued by King Darius.
