Religion can sometimes be used as a tool for advancing political agendas and maintaining power, leading to conflicts in the Middle East. Additionally, the region's history of colonialism, foreign interventions, and socio-economic disparities have contributed to tensions that are sometimes exacerbated by religious differences. Furthermore, interpretations of religious texts and teachings can vary, leading to differing beliefs and practices that can fuel conflicts.

There are a number of conflicts taking place in the Middle East but the only one where land AND religion are involved would be the existence of Israel. The Jews claim it as their homeland since the days of Genesis in the Tanakh (Jewish OT in The Bible), while Muslims refute the claim and believe that all of the Palestinian region is rightfully theirs.
