The most intriguing thing about American crocodiles is despite the fact that they are bigger than American alligators and caimans (and smaller than Nile and saltwater crocodiles), they are not man-eaters like their other relatives and are in fact the one crocodilian subspecies that would not want to attack people. Instead, they are shy and would rather avoid people whenever they can.
